If you’re an Amazon Prime subscriber, you’re probably already familiar with the generous monthly perks that come with Prime Gaming – typically a selection of free PC games. But this month, Amazon is shaking things up once again by offering Minecraft Legends as a free download for Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
It’s part of a growing trend where Prime Gaming includes at least one console game in the monthly drop. Last month, it was Wolfenstein: The Old Blood. Now, Xbox owners can jump into Minecraft Legends, a real-time strategy spin-off set in the beloved blocky universe – and it’s perfectly timed to coincide with the upcoming Minecraft movie hitting cinemas.
In Minecraft Legends, players are tasked with defending the Overworld from Piglin invasions. You’ll build structures, gather resources, and rally your own army – all while enjoying the signature voxel art style. Whether you’re new to strategy games or a seasoned Minecraft veteran, it’s a fun twist on the familiar.
How to Claim Minecraft Legends for Free on Xbox:
- Head over to the Amazon Prime Gaming website.
- Scroll to the Minecraft Legends Xbox listing and click Get Game.
- You’ll receive a redemption code.
- Use the code on your Xbox (via the Store’s side menu) or visit Microsoft’s code redemption page.
- Make sure you’re signed in with your Microsoft account.
That’s it – you’ll then be able to download and play the game on your Xbox console at no extra cost.
Don’t Forget the Free PC Games Too
Alongside the Xbox release, Prime Gaming members can also grab 23 free PC titles this month. Highlights include:
- Mafia III: Definitive Edition – A gritty open-world crime saga set in 1968 New Bordeaux.
- Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain – A cult classic action-adventure steeped in gothic lore.
- Endless Space: Definitive Edition – A turn-based 4X strategy game set in a sprawling sci-fi universe.
You can claim all of these from the Prime Gaming hub – just ensure your Amazon and Twitch accounts are linked.
