As we near the release of Elden Ring: Nightreign, FromSoftware has begun unveiling details through previews, beta tests and even character class trailers. Like its predecessor, Nightreign requires players to select a Nightfarer from eight prebuilt heroes before embarking on their journey through Limveld. Although the are eight nightfarer with each class offering a unique playstyle, complete with distinct weapons, skills, passive abilities, and ultimate arts, only 5 have been officially confirmed. However, customisation is limited—while you can’t change a Nightfarer’s appearance or armour set, modifications can still be made to their armour.
Here’s a look at all confirmed and rumoured Nightfarer classes in Elden Ring: Nightreign.
Confirmed Nightfarer Classes
1. Wylder

The Wylder serves as the all-rounder class, ideal for beginners. Armed with a greatsword and a small shield, this Nightfarer also wields a grappling hook prosthetic for manoeuvrability—allowing for swift enemy engagement. Wylder has a passive ability that grants the player a second chance after a lethal hit, while his ultimate triggers a massive explosion, damaging both health and stance.

The guardian is a defensive powerhouse wielding a Halberd and Greatshield, allowing for strong offence and near-impenetrable defence. He is what players usually refer to as a Tank. His Whirlwind skill breaks enemy stances, while his Steel Guard reduces damage taken when knocked back. The Guardian’s ultimate ability delivers a high-impact aerial smash which devastates enemies below.
